The Witches

The Witches is indeed some kinder-trauma inducing cinema. Many of us were all scarred by a scene in the film in which Anjelica Huston peeled off her face to reveal her true witchy form. Well, to celebrate 30-years of traumatizing kids, The Witches is receiving a special edition blu-ray.

Nicolas Roeg’s film based on Roald Dahl’s story is definitely a classic. With, the upcoming remake re-introducing a world to a new coven of witches, Warner Bros, is giving us a quick refresher course on the world of The Witches with this blu-ray.

This is the first time that The Witches will receive a blu-ray release in the UK. Don’t let that bum you out though. The disc is region free and will work on the players here in the US.

The official synopsis goes like this:

“Jasen Fisher plays Luke, the 9-year-old boy who must foil the plans of a society of witches to turn the world’s children into mice. It won’t be easy: They’ve already transformed him into one! But some big, bad witches may be no match for the resourcefulness of a single tiny rodent.”

This edition comes with some new cover art work, art cards, exclusive booklet and replica theatrical poster.

You can pick this one up from amazon.uk. The blu-ray drops Oct. 12.
