Netflix has given the go-order for a third season of their hit series The Umbrella Academy. The 10-episode season is set to begin filming in Toronto in February of 2021.

Series regulars Colm Feore, Robert Sheehan, Ellen Page, Tom Hopper, David Castaneda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Aidan Gallagher, Justin H. Min, and Ritu Arya are all set to reprise their roles.

Based on the comics by My Chemical Romance’s Gerard Way, The Umbrella Academy centers on a family of seven super-powered siblings doing their best to navigate their dysfunctional family politics while simultaneously trying to save the world from destruction.

The series was the third most popular streaming series on Netflix in 2019 and took the number one spot on the first ever Nielsen Streaming Top 10 with season two according to Deadline.

Season two left viewers on a giant cliffhanger. The team successfully stopped the world from ending yet again after being thrown back to the turbulent 1960s and finally returned to the present only to discover that their actions led to an alternate timeline that looked decidedly dark with very personal repercussions.

It will be interesting to see where the third series will take us. Is the world set for destruction again? Or will the war actually be at home?
