The Soska Sisters, the duo responsible for the absolutely mindblowing American Mary, are returning with a vengeance. This time, it’s with a remake of David Cronenberg’s classic body horror flick Rabid.

The movie follows a woman named Rose (Laura Vandervoort) who undergoes a radical plastic surgery and ends up with some very unpleasant side effects, setting off a chain of events that could bring about mass violence and bloodshed. So, yes, it’s a heartwarming tale as usual from Jen and Sylvia Soska. Bring a date.

You can watch the trailer for Rabid below.

Greg Bryk, Stephen McHattie, and Ted Atherton will costar. The Soska Sisters’ remake will premiere at London’s Frightfest, which takes place from August 22nd to August 26th. The much-anticipated Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark will also get a screening.

And if that wasn’t enough, the macabre siblings will host a screening of David Cronenberg’s original film. How cool is that?

There’s a whole bunch of treats for attendees at the festival this year, including an appearance by Dario Argento. He’ll be speaking to festival co-director Alan Jones about his autobiography. His 1982 film Tenebrae will also receive a screening.

Thanks to EW for the heads up.
