The CW is not giving The Lost Boys a chance to fly this season. As a result of the coronavirus guidelines to shelter at home, the show may have suffered another setback.

The studio decided on Tuesday to greenlight Kung Fu and The Republic of Sarah instead reports Deadline.

Development hell isn’t a first for The Lost Boys reboot. Specifically, the Rob Thomas series had to be retooled last year before it was given a second chance at life.

CW president Mark Pedowitz talked to the press on Thursday, saying the series is not down for the count. Above all, the project holds a fondness in the heart of the network brass.

Lost Boys is a passion of mine personally, having Rob attached to it,” Pedowitz said. “Once we get through this climate, we will make a determination on how best to proceed with Lost Boys. I’m hoping to keep it going.”

The Lost Boys reboot is based on the 1987 teen vampire movie of the same name.

It was announced in February that Branden Cook (Industry), Lincoln Younes(Grand Hotel) and Ruby Cruz (Castle Rock) have been cast as leads.
