Alejandro Brugués is set to direct The Last Will and Testament of Charles Abernathy at Netflix based on a script by Chris LaMont and Joe Russo.
According to Deadline, the synopsis reads as follows:
The story follows billionaire Charles Abernathy who, on the eve of his 75th birthday, invites his four estranged children back home out of fear that tonight someone – or something – is coming to kill him. To ensure his family will help protect him from whatever’s coming, Abernathy puts each of their inheritances on the line – they’ll get nothing if he’s found dead by dawn.
Brugués hails from Argentina and has been involved with numerous projects in recent years including an episode of Into the Dark, 50 States of Fright, ABCs of Death 2, Nightmare Cinema, and From Dust til Dawn: The Series. The director captured audiences’ attention after his film Juan of the Dead.
Netflix picked up the LaMont/Russo script after it was featured on the 2018 BloodList. The two previously collaborated on The Au Pair Nightmare and Hard Kill which starred Bruce Willis.
