Last year, Adam Wingard’s You’re Next was one of the coolest and most interesting takes on the home invasion genre I have seen in a very long time. Stocked full of gore, frightening killers and an excellent twist, it quickly became one of my favorite horror movies. Being a fan of his work, I’m always looking forward to his latest projects, so when I received an email this morning with a trailer for The Guest, I knew I had to share it (which is over at IGN).

A soldier (Dan Stevens) introduces himself to the Peterson family, claiming to be a friend of their son who died in action. After the young man is welcomed into their home, a series of accidental deaths seem to be connected to his presence.

The film has been getting a lot of attention and a lot of positive feedback, even being called “a demented action-horror hybrid of sci-fi conspiracy thriller and gore-fest” by Empire Magazine. Well, I can’t wait to check it out when it hits theaters this September.

In the meantime, check out the trailer below.
