On January 3, 2020, The Grudge reboot from producer Sam Raimi starring Lin Shaye (Insidious), John Cho (The Exorcist), William Sadler (The Shawshank Redemption), Betty Gilpin (Ghost Town), and Andrea Riseborough (Birdman) will hit theaters, and it’s already one of the most anticipated films of the new year.
To add a little excitement to the online buzz, Sony Pictures has put together an art competition. According the official site, “The judges are looking for an alternative poster design that is captivating, horrifying, and imaginative.”
Aspiring artists can design art based around the film’s themes and imagery. The five winners will each receive $2000 in prize money, and their art will potentially be used in the film’s marketing campaign including social media posts and print materials.
The competition is open until December 9, 2019. A full list of rules and themes to consider while creating artwork are listed on the contest’s official page which you can FIND HERE.
It goes without saying that this is an amazing opportunity for exposure, and the $2000 isn’t exactly small change.
