Purge

If it’s one franchise that I have fallen surprisingly in love with it would have to be that of The Purge. This series has remained fun while also holding a giant blood smeared mirror up to our times. Doing all that is tough enough but taking the series across different sub-genre’s is seriously the most crowning of all other of its achievements.

The First Purge is taking us all the way back to year zero of the sociopolitical splatter fest. That’s right we get to see how it all went down and get a glimpse of how the community reacts to it.

Behind every tradition lies a revolution.  Next Independence Day, witness the rise of our country’s 12 hours of annual lawlessness.  Welcome to the movement that began as a simple experiment: The First Purge.
To push the crime rate below one percent for the rest of the year, the New Founding Fathers of America (NFFA) test a sociological theory that vents aggression for one night in one isolated community.  But when the violence of oppressors meets the rage of the marginalized, the contagion will explode from the trial-city borders and spread across the nation.

Each entry of the purge has taken on different sub-genre’s from home invasion to big schlocky action. This one looks to be taking it into the same blaxsploitation direction of the a lot of the 70’s and 80’s greats, which I’m totally into.

Get your eyeballs over to the first trailer for The First Purge and let us know what you think, guys!
