Entertainment Weekly is confirming that the four leads for the reboot of 1996’s The Craft have officially been cast.
Cailee Spaeny (Bad Times at the El Royale), Gideon Adlon (Blockers), Zoey Luna (Pose), and Lovie Simone (Selah and the Spades) will star in the film about a group of high school students who form a coven of witches.
Zoe Lister-Jones (Band Aid) will write and direct the reboot which is being financed by Blumhouse and Columbia.
The Craft was a cultural phenomenon upon its release in 1996. Directed by Andrew Fleming, it starred Robin Tunney, Neve Campbell, Rachel True, and Fairuza Balk and had teenagers, and more than their fair share of adults, donning their best goth make-up and playing “Light as a Feather, Stiff as a Board.”
The film still has a dedicated following. It’s still one of those films you can break out on Halloween and have the time of your life watching with your friends.
Details about just how the new film will unfold are being kept under wraps at this point, but if they have even half the success of the original, they’ll be in good shape.
As always, iHorror will keep you updated on details as they emerge on this new reboot of The Craft.
