The Conjuring was another one of the most anticipated horror films that got pushed back to to June 2021. In the a new thirty-minute behind the scenes documentary that Warner Bros. posted to YouTube, we get a deep dive look at the entirety of James Wan’s spectacular Conjuring universe. Most importantly, we get a look at some scenes and uncover a bit of story from from The Conjuring 3: The Devil Made Me Do It.
The whole video is pretty great for Conjuring fans so, I suggest watching the whole thing, but if you want to skip straight to the Conjuring 3 goods, skip to 29:30.
In the last bit of the video, we get a look at Ruairi O’Connor as Arne Johnson the subject of the latest Conjuring entry. Johnson talks a little bit in the behind the scenes footage, but more importantly, he played a major part on set; making sure that the film told his story as closely as possible.
Wan and team are taking The Conjuring 3: The Devil Made Me Do It story and placing it in the 80s, and taking it out of the haunted house aesthetic that we are used to and moving it into a fresh direction. That is something these films have always done particularly well, and ultimately keeps us coming back for more.
