The horror market is once again looking to its past for inspiration. The latest film to get a remake is the George C. Scott supernatural chiller The Changeling.
According to Deadline Finnish director Anders Engström (Hanna, See), who is mostly known for his television work, will be taking the helm.
The story follows a man grieving the death of his daughter, who moves into his childhood home. There, strange and unexplainable things begin to happen which leads him on a mission to discover the secrets of the house. It all sounds very J-horror in the schematic.
The script by Tab Murphy is said to veer from the original movie a bit with “several new twists and turns.”
Peter Medak directed the original film back in 1980 which saw moderate success at the box office but has since been regarded as one of the best ghost story movies of all time.
