‘Texas Chainsaw Begins’ is Now a Potential Title For the Next TCM Film

Texas Chainsaw Massacre

Wow. So, we are entering a possible Twilight Zone. In this particular episode, at the end the twist is that we end up with a crappy and somewhat confusing film title. While, we originally reported that the new TCM’s title would just be Texas Chainsaw Massacre, now could be Texas Chainsaw Begins.

Producer, of the new Texas Chainsaw Massacre told all of us that the film would be a direct sequel to the first film. A the time Alvarez went on to say that Old Man Leatherface would be in the film. All that sounds very cool and had us all very excited.

However, a couple of days ago, The Hollywood Reporter shared that Legendary Entertainment is taking a reboot of Faces of Death for the digital age. In that same news piece, they mentioned that Legendary Entertainment was also working on Texas Chainsaw Massacre with producer Fede Alvarez but they communicated that ” it has a remake of Texas Chainsaw Massacre titled Texas Chainsaw Begins.

Typos happen. We know, we have been guilty of them. We are only undead humans after all! But, what catches our attention quite a bit here, is that it mentions “a remake…” and it calls it “Texas Chainsaw Begins.”

Yikes! We are cringing at that title. Not only is it dropping the “Massacre” from the title, but it also adds the horrible  “begins.”

The implications are huge and entirely change what we had been told earlier by Alvarez. Let’s hope that this was a typo. I don’t know if I can deal with “begins” in the title and what that would mean for the film’s narrative.

The investigation begins.

What do you guys think about the potential news? What do you think about that title? Let us know in the comments section.
