While the Terminator franchise hasn’t exactly had the greatest luck in recent years, that still doesn’t stop fans from hoping that the series will one day return to its former glory.
With creator James Cameron back to guide the next installment creatively – and Deadpool helmer Tim Miller set to direct – it may only be a matter of time until that does indeed happen, but until then, fans will have to make due with revisiting the original classics.
As highly regarded as the original 1984 Terminator is, many consider 1991 sequel Terminator 2: Judgment Day to be even better, although one can’t really go wrong with either.
For those who weren’t around to see T2 when it first kicked ass in theaters, Distrib Films has got a real treat in store. The company has announced that Judgment Day will return to theaters this summer, on August 25th to be exact.
Not only will this re-release enable younger fans to finally experience T2 on the big screen, it’ll also offer something new for those who caught the film back in 1991: 3D. Yep, T2 has been fully restored and converted into the third dimension.
Anyone on the fence about going to the theater to take in T2 in 3D is advised to not miss out on the opportunity to be wowed all over again by a true all-time classic, and arguably one of the most adrenaline-filled movies ever.
The number of iconic scenes, lines, battles, and character moments in Terminator 2 is off the charts, and it’s uncertain how many years will go buy before the film will once again “be back” in theaters. Go check it out, and be reminded that even in these hard times, there is truly no fate but what we make.
