Nickelodeon and Point Grey Pictures are working on a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot movie. Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg are onboard as producers. While both, James Weaver and Jeff Rowe are both on to helm the new picture.
The big woop this time around comes from the source material that this adaptation will take on. The CG Ninja Turtle film will come from none other than the pages of Kevin Eastman-Peter Laird’s original comic book. This takes us all the way back to the very beginning of the Turtles.
“Adding Seth, Evan and James’ genius to the humor and action that’s already an integral part of TMNT is going to make this a next-level reinvention of the property. I’m looking forward to see what they do, and I know that Ramsey Naito and her team are excited to take the Nick Animation Studio into another great direction with their first-ever CG-animated theatrical.” said ViacomCBC Kids and Family President, Brian Robbins.
Eastman and Laird have enormous respect from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fandom. The two creators gave the turtles a darker tone than the one eventually adapted for Saturday morning cartoons. Darker, but still the same Turtles that love. It will be interesting to see if the CG movie goes for the same tone.
