There was always something really frightening about the wraparound for the Tales From the Darkside: The Movie anthology. The whole Hansel and Gretel influenced bit, featured Blondie preparing to cook a young boy for dinner. The whole thing exacerbated by my mom telling me that is exactly what could end up happening if I talked to strangers. But, I digress. Tales From the Darkside: The Movie is on its way to Blu-ray soon from Scream Factory.
The anthology was based on the television series and really upped its game for the big screen. Best of all, it acts as a perfect don’t talk to strangers or they will cook you and eat you PSA.
Scream Factory’s description goes like this:
Michael McDowell, George Romero, Stephen King and Arthur Conan Doyle present a terrifying anthology of fear with 1990’s Tales from the Darkside: The Movie—which is coming to Blu-ray this Summer! Details we have currently are as follows:
• This is being presented as a Collector’s Edition release and will come guaranteed with a slipcover in its first three months of release.
• The newly commissioned artwork comes to us from artist Laz Marquez. This art will be front-facing and the reverse side of the wrap will feature the original theatrical artwork.
• New extras are in progress and will be announced on a later date (May timing).
