Get ready, horror fans. Robert Englund has officially joined the cast for season four of Stranger Things!
The news came today that Englund, most famous for his role as Freddy Kreuger in the Nightmare on Elm Street franchise, will join the cast as a mysterious character named Victor Creel, “a disturbed and intimidating man who is imprisoned in a psychiatric hospital for a gruesome murder in the 1950s” according to Variety.
Englund joins a host of other fresh faces to the series including Jamie Campbell Bower (Sweeney Todd) as Peter Ballard, a man who works as an orderly at the psychiatric hospital, Eduardo Franco (The Binge), and Joseph Quinn (Overlord) as Eddie Munson, a metalhead who runs The Hellfire Club aka Hawkins High School’s official D&D club.
Other new additions to the cast include Tom Wlaschiha (Game of Thrones), Sherman Augustus (Into the Badlands), Mason Dye (Bosch), and Nikola Djuricko (Genius).
Production on season four of Stranger Things was suspended earlier this year due to Covid-19 concerns, but is currently back on track, though we probably won’t have a hard and fast release date for a while.
In the meantime, iHorror will be keeping a close eye on details for the new season as they become available.
