Jumping on the popular horror based TV show trend (which isn’t a bad thing) is FX with their new show called The Strain. This week, not only did they debut a nice little teaser for you, but also an old school poster that is sure to make you squirm. I don’t know about you, but images or films that feature things going into the eye, makes me uneasy. The Strain is based on a book series Guillermo del Toro wrote with Chuck Hogan, the pilot episode will also be directed by Guillermo del Toro himself. The show is set to star Corey Stoll, Maestro, Sean Astin, Kevin Durand, Natalie Brown, Jonathan Hyde, Richard Sammel, Robert Maillet, Jack Kesy, Ben Hyland, and Miguel Gomez. The series will debut in July, so keep checking with us as more news comes in!
The series tells the story of Dr. Ephraim Goodweather (Corey Stoll), the head of the Center for Disease Control Canary Team in New York City. He and his team are called upon to investigate a mysterious viral outbreak with hallmarks of an ancient and evil strain of vampirism. As the strain spreads, Eph, his team, and an assembly of everyday New Yorkers, wage war for the fate of humanity itself.
