Stephen King

You’ve got to love Stephen King. Always one to speak his mind, the horror genius is not afraid to ruffle some feathers from time to time.

Recently he posted this little slap on the wrist towards STARZ for including two beloved horror movies in their lineup of classic movies for Halloween, Freddy vs. Jason and Seed of Chucky. Classics? King says no.

I’ve got to be honest, I laughed out loud when I read this. Though I’m sure many will disagree, King, possibly more than anyone, is more than entitled to an opinion as to what constitutes as a classic in this day and age. After all, he wrote a large majority of them.

The most surprising thing about this might be the fact that someone has an opinion on Twitter and the majority of the replies are NOT arguing with the statement. Could you believe it? People agreeing…on Twitter…in 2019. This is almost unheard of!

Leave it to Stephen King to bring people together, I suppose.

But what do you all think about this? I know both of those movies have tons of fans. Personally, I think he’s right. Especially considering the cheese factor of Freddy vs. Jason. It’s a big, dumb, monster movie, and it definitely had it’s moments, but it overall ends up feeling underwhelming.

And as for Seed of Chucky? I don’t think many people are going to be vilifying King for this opinion. I mean, come on.
