Stephen King is known for a lot of things, most of them terrifying and all of them genius, but every so often the man behind Cujo, Carrie, and Christine comes up with an idea that stops us in our tracks.
That’s what happened a couple of nights ago when King, on his very active Twitter account, jokingly suggested Pennywise, the soul-eating clown from his hit novel It, should make an appearance on Sesame Street.
Pennywise on Sesame Street! Wouldn’t that be cool? He could give out balloons! Bert and Ernie would float! EVERYBODY would float! The kids would love it!

My first question, of course, was which version? Would we have the more…jovial?…Tim Curry-type Pennywise from the 1990s or would Bill Skarsgard’s version from the Muschietti two-parter whose second chapter debuted this year be more appropriate?
Naturally, some of King’s 5.5 million followers weighed in on the matter.
Actress Valerie Bertinelli’s came across in a rather stern mom voice…

Twitter user Raz651 had a further suggestion.
He could take along Cujo. Kids love dogs.

Personally, I think the idea has some merit, and it certainly opens up the famed children’s show for other King crossovers.
I mean, let’s take the Count to Jerusalem’s Lot, and maybe Annie Wilkes could stop by to teach a first aid lesson! Grover might even find a monster at the end of the book that wasn’t him!
OF course, it’ll never happen, but it’s certainly fun to think about! What Stephen King kiddie show crossover would you like to see? Let us know in the comments!
