Stephen Dorff Talks Returning to Blade Reboot as Deacon Frost

Deacon Frost is definitely a memorable Blade villain. Stephen Dorff’s turn at the Marvel villain was one that instantly became part of pop culture. The vampire with master plans to drink the human race and resurrect the Blood God was a one of Blade’s biggest adversaries.

In a recent interview with ET, Dorff went on record to say that he would be very into the idea of coming back to reinvent Frost in the upcoming Mahershala Ali lead Blade reboot.

“I definitely would love to reinvent that character because that character’s someone who really stands [the test of time]. I still talk about [him] 20-something years later. I’m still signing Deacon Frost pictures out front today, so we’ll see where it goes,”

Can’t blame him, Deacon Frost was a cool vampire and seeing him back in some capacity would be super swell.

“We talked about doing a Deacon Frost movie on its own at one point, me and the director of the original Blade, who is just a genius, Stephen Norrington, and it never really happened because Marvel was a new entity and Kevin Feige was kind of building this whole new universe he’s built successfully, They weren’t really interested in the dark Marvel movie but maybe after Joker and all this stuff, maybe it’ll start to be trendy.”

I had no idea that around the release of Blade in 98′ the powers that be were considering making a Deacon Frost spinoff. The possibilities of expanding the Blade universe back then would have been spectacular, especially when dealing with some of the factions introduced in Blade II.

I could go into the all to revealing details of how, I used to have the same hair style and try to dress like Deacon Frost but… I digress. Let’s hear from you guys instead.

What do you guys think? Want to see Deacon Frost back in the reboot? Let us know in the comments section.
