It seems the biggest news items coming out of this year’s Comic-Con in San Diego from any genre are of the horror variety such as this new teaser for season three of Stan Against Evil starring John C. McGinley and Janet Varney.

The horror comedy is being added to the pile-up of genre releases in all mediums dropping in October and by the look of it, it’s a welcome contribution.

McGinley plays a cranky ex-sheriff, Stan Miller, living in the small town of Willard’s Mill where his female replacement, Sheriff Evie Barrett (Varney), must serve and protect the living from the dark forces that have decided to mess with the population.

Season 3 takes place immediately following Season 2’s events in which Stan traveled through time in order to save his wife. But in doing so allowed multiple otherworldly forces to fast track into our world.

Stan Against Evil stars Nate Mooney, Deborah Baker Jr., Scott Adsit, Maria Bamford, David Koechner, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Eddie Pepitone.

Season 1 is currently on Hulu with season 2 to follow on August 17. Season 3 will premiere on IFC on October 31.
