Sony has officially unveiled the cast for their upcoming film Escape Room 2.

Holland Roden (Teen Wolf), Indya Moore (Pose), Carlito Olivero (Step Up: High Water), and Thomas Cocquerel (The 100), and Isabelle Fuhrman (Orphan) will join returning cast members Logan Miller (Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse) and Taylor Russell (Lost in Space) in Escape Room 2.

Adam Robitel (The Taking of Deborah LoganInsidious: The Last Key) returns to direct the sequel based on a script by Brag F. Schut (Season of the Witch). The film is set for release in August of 2020.

Escape Room was an undeniable box office hit earlier this year earning an estimated $!55 million worldwide according to IMDb with a reported budget of only $9 million. It told the story of six strangers trapped inside a deadly escape room run by the Minos Corporation.

It was a beautifully executed thriller with inventive puzzles that kept audiences on the edge of their seat rooting for the players’ survival. At the end of that film, Russell’s character, Zoey Davis, had decided to take down Minos and was attempting to enlist Miller’s character, Ben, to help her.

Escape Room 2 is set to go into production in South Africa where the previous film was shot last year. It will be interesting to see just how this sequel plays out and what new and inventive rooms Robitel and his crew have created to test the skills of their new cast of characters.

Will Zoey and Ben finally put an end to the Minos Corporation? Can they survive once more? And how exactly will they relate to this new cast of characters?

We can’t say for sure, but we will definitely be watching next August when the film premieres!
