Those familiar with Joe Hill’s NOS4A2 (a play on Nosferatu) can speak to the thrilling and horrific elements that weave through this critically-acclaimed page-turner of a book. It was only a matter of time before we’d see some kind of screen adaptation.
AMC has answered that call with a 10-episode series based on the novel by Joe Hill (gifted writer and son of Stephen King), and there’s a new official teaser to draw us all in.
NOS4A2 tells the story of Charlie Manx, a seductive immortal who feeds off the souls of children, then deposits what remains of them into Christmasland – an icy, twisted Christmas village of Manx’s imagination where every day is Christmas Day and unhappiness is against the law. Manx finds his whole world threatened when a young woman in New England discovers she has a dangerous gift.
The teaser is a quick one, but it’s full of tantalizing imagery that sets the scene for a great tale of terror.
From showrunner Jami O’Brien (Fear the Walking Dead), the series stars Zachary Quinto (American Horror Story) as Charlie Manx and Ashleigh Cummings (Hounds of Love) as heroine Vic McQueen, with Olafur Darri Olafsson (The Deep), Jahkara Smith (of YouTube fame), Karen Pittman (Luke Cage), Rarmian Newton (Nightmares & Dreamscapes), and Ashley Romans (Shameless) rounding out the cast.
NOS4A2 will premiere on AMC in Summer of 2019.
