As hard as it is to believe, it’s been nearly 20 years since Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino partnered up on From Dusk Till Dawn, a vampire flick that spawned two sequels in 1999, and even a computer game in 2001. This year, the Gecko brothers and their vampire friends make the leap to the small screen, From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series premiering on Rodriguez’ brand new El Rey Network in March.
From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series kicks off on March 11th with a 10-episode first season, centering around brothers Seth and Richie Gecko (above), who find themselves at the vampire infested Titty Twister bar, after kidnapping a family. Though none of the actors from the original film will be returning to reprise their roles, a handful of familiar characters including Sheriff Earl McGraw and even Santanico Pandemonium will be regulars on the show, with a bunch of new ones throw into the mix.
According to Robert Rodriguez, who directed the first two episodes, From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series will greatly expand on his 1996 film, and he describes it as the novel to the film’s short story. Now this is how you do a ‘remake’!
