The lambs will never stop screaming for poor Clarice, it seems. At least not according to the latest bit of news from the CBS camp.
At Television Critics Association’s winter press tour it was announced that CBS is putting a lot of its eggs into this particular basket. CBS is aiming for a 2020-2021 time frame. Alex Kurtzman will head up the Clarice venture as showrunner with Aaron Baiers on as co-producer.
The story will of course of course focus on Clarice Starling. It will take place years after the event of Silence of the Lambs and see her taking on procedural cases involving serial killers and other sorts of baddies.
Now, I know what you are thinking, because I’m thinking the same thing. Why not give us more Hannibal? Bryan Fuller’s intensely brilliant series turned the world on its head and gave us something that no fan could have predicted with Hugh Dancy and Mads Mikkelsen. Well we aren’t alone in that thought, a petition is already making its way around the internet to bring back Hannibal, so maybe with a little luck we might finally get what we want one of these days.
Until then, a drama built around Clarice Starling is exciting. Casting and a means to stay way from becoming another CIS adjacent procedural is vital.
What do you guys think? Excited to see where Clarice goes? Let us know in the comments.
