Teaming up with fellow Rob Zombie alumni Scout Taylor-Compton (Halloween 1&2), Sid Haig and Bill Moseley will join horror forces once again in the upcoming film Cynthia. Not to be confused with the 1947 drama of the same name starring Elizabeth Taylor, Cynthia will be released to VOD and DVD/Blu sometime in October of 2018.
Written by Robert Rhine, and directed by Devon Downs and Kenny Gage, the film centers on Robin and her husband Michael, played by Scout Taylor-Compton and Kyle Jones, who give birth to a pair of twins.
“Cynthia is a horror film about the ‘perfect’ couple and their desperate obsession to have a child which descends into a terrifying dark comedy.”
From the looks of the trailer, the story seems to resemble something of a modern day Rosemary’s Baby, equipped with a disturbing and horrific birthing scene.
Sid Haig plays the role of Detective Edwards, who seems to be investigating the strange and dark incidents surrounding the new ‘happy’ family, while Bill Moseley seems to be doing what he does best – terrorizing a helpless woman and reciting quotable one-liners in the process.
There’s no denying that when the two veterans team up together, spine-tingling, blood-splattered magic occurs upon the screen. One can only assume that the duo will help make Cynthia the demented thrill ride it appears to be.
