We’re living in a world where humans taking pictures of themselves has become such a popular trend that not only has a term been coined to represent the self-indulgent act, but that term has officially found its way into the Merriam Webster Dictionary. Selfies, man. They creep me out.
And selfies, believe it or not, are quickly becoming the stuff of nightmares, contributing to more deaths this year than shark attacks. As Mashable recently reported, 12 people have died while trying to take a selfie in 2015 while only 8 have been killed by sharks – a troubling statistic, isn’t it?
I suppose it was only a matter of time before the art of the selfie was turned into its own horror film, and with the new short Selfie from Hell, director Erdal Ceylan has done just that. In the 90-second short, a young woman attempts to take a selfie, and discovers something lurking in her home.
