Hey, you, do you like the Sharknado movies? Me, I’m kind of indifferent to them. I tend to enjoy low-budget monster movies as much as the next fan, but something about the Sharknado series has always made them come off as overly manufactured to me.
Still, I’m not everyone, and it’s safe to say that lots of people enjoy seeing the heroic Fin Shepard (Ian Ziering) take it to tornado-riding sharks with his trusty chainsaw. Sadly for those people, this year’s Sharknado 6 is set to serve as the end of the franchise.
This sixth entry will see Fin – left alone in basically an apocalyptic hellscape after the end of Sharknado 5: Global Swarming – get sent back in time, and be given an opportunity to save the world and the lives of his loved ones by preventing the very first Sharknado.
Syfy has released a short teaser trailer for Sharknado 6, which can be seen below. Among other things, it reveals that the film’s full title is The Last Sharknado: It’s About Time. Also, the movie will now air on August 19th, later than the previously reported July 25th.
So, what do you folks think? Is it indeed “about time” that the Sharknado franchise ended, or should it live on to make sure Ian Ziering doesn’t miss his next mortgage payment? All kidding aside, it’s certainly been an odd ride.
