If there’s any company us horror fans should be thankful for it’s Scream Factory, who have been releasing both obscure gems and fan-favorite classics onto Blu-ray for a few years now. Scream Factory knows what we want and they give it to us, and they’re showing no signs of slowing down.

This morning, the distribution company made the surprise announcement that Wes Craven’s Shocker is the next to join their ever-expanding roster of Blu-ray titles, coming our way in the form of a Collector’s Edition release. It will be released on September 8th, and it marks the first time the movie has been available on Blu-ray.

Released in 1989, Shocker stars The X-Files‘ Mitch Pileggi as Horace Pinker, a serial killer whose execution only serves to make him stronger. After a botched electrocution, he uses the power of electricity to come back from the dead and carry out his vengeance on the football player who turned him in to the police.

Scream Factory hasn’t yet revealed art for the release, but based on previous offerings, we can guarantee that the cover art will be two-sided, with the original poster art (seen below) on one side, and a newly-commissioned piece of art on the other. Keep your eyes locked on Scream Factory’s Facebook page for further details!
