The world is a weird place right now. Okay, it’s always been weird. However, this bit of news is both weird and warms the cockles of the heart. Turns out director Scott Derrickson is taking over Sam Raimi’s previous project, Bermuda.
This comes not long after Raimi took over directing Scott Derrickson’s previous project, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. See, the world is weird and nice every once in a blood moon.
Derrickson stepped away from Doctor Strange citing “creative differences” as the reason. Not long after, Sam Raimi was brought in to work on the project.
According to Raimi Bermuda centered on the story of “a massive submarine carry nuclear weapons goes missing in the Bermuda Triangle, Commander Vogel enlists the help of Dr. Fisk, a theoretical physicist, who while using his grandfather’s research opens a wormhole to reveal a mysterious island that is inhabited by anything lost in the triangle including Sharks, Vikings, and Nazis, in the hopes of finding the nuclear weapons.”
Sounds pretty cool to us. It almost even sounds Cloverfield-ish. Anyways, it is great to see Derrickson on the project, Sinister is still up there on my personal list of fave horror titles.
What do you guys think? Excited about Derrickson taking over Bermuda? Let us know in the comments section.
