San Diego FrightOut Shorts Co-Presented by iHorror

For the first time in its nineteen year run, the San Diego LGBT FilmOut film festival has added a block of short horror films to its roster.  iHorror will co-present the short films with with Horrible Imaginings and Cinema Junkie. in the festival’s FrightOut evening which will take place at 10 pm on Saturday, June 10, 2017.

“We’re honored to support creative work in horror from all communities,” Anthony Pernicka, iHorror CEO, stated.  “We believe the art comes first.  We believe in inclusion.  After all, if horror teaches us nothing else, it’s that when cut, we’re all the same on the inside.”

The festival’s choices certainly take that statement to heart.  The five short films offer a variety of voices and perspectives.from around the world.  Check out the exciting line up below!

Short 1:  Tonight It’s You, 2016, 17 minutes

Directed by Dominic Haxton, USA

Synopsis:   CJ ventures out for a late night hook up when things take a dark turn, leading him into something much more sinister than he could ever imagine.

Short 2:  Room for Rent, 2016, 20 Minutes

Directed by Enock Carvalho, Brazil

Synopsis:  Leticia lives by herself. When she meets Gabriela at a party and brings her home, strange movements begin to develop in her apartment.

Short 3:  Hi, It’s Your Mother, 2016, 5 Minutes

Directed by Daniel Sterlin-Altman, Canada

Synopsis:   A shocking tragicomic stop motion film about a mother’s love for her child (and also somecarnal pleasure).

Short 4:  Demons, 2017, 11 Minutes

Directed by Jesse Klein, USA

Synopsis:  Matt is a closeted serial killer on the hunt for love and acceptance in a pretty messed up world.

Short 5:  PYOTR495, 2016, 15 Minutes

Directed by Blake Mawson

Synopsis:  16 year-old Pyotr isbaited by an ultra-nationalist group known for their violent abductions and attacks bolstered by Russia’s LGBT propaganda law, but Pyotr has a dangerous secret.

The FrightOut tract co-presented by iHorror, Horrible Imaginings and Cinema Junkie, is on Saturday June 10, beginning at 10 pm at the The Observatory – North Park located at 2891 University Ave, San Diego, CA 92104.
