A little over a week ago, AHS creator Ryan Murphy dropped a massive bomb on the world when he revealed the theme for the FX horror hit and the internet, as it tends to do, lost their minds and spelled out their distaste and or fascination at the idea on various news threads. Currently titled American Horror Story: Election, which could of course change over the next few months, will dive into the horrors and the state of the immensely divided country that we witnessed this past November’s election; and still continue to see throughout the community. Whether you agree with the theme or not for season 7, you may have inadvertently asked for this ladies and gents- You wanted a truly scary American Horror Story? Well, you’re getting one.

Well regardless of whether this rather interestingly different approach to the series excites you or not, at least we haven’t been kept in the dark about season 7, much like last year when Murphy turned our balls blue in anticipation up until close to the premiere of Roanoke. Murphy recently opened up with The Hollywood Reporter dishing some more dirt on what to expect from American Horror Story Election along with his reasoning on why this upcoming season holds a significant message in society today.

“Well, one is to write about the divisiveness. American Horror Story is going to be about the election that we just went through. And what I’m interested in doing is not just the obvious, single-minded point of view but rather express all sides of that equation. What needs to happen in our country now is for people to listen to each other – we may not always agree with each other and we may be horrified by what the other side is doing but we have to move toward understanding. So that’s one example of what I’m going to do. And then all of the stuff that I’m developing now is going to be about illuminating and highlighting people who don’t have a voice in our culture — people who are ignored by the current administration and who are afraid and feel terrorized that their lives are going to be taken away. I’m interested not just in writing about those people but also in using my financial means to give back to them as well.”

Sounds intriguing if you ask me! What do you speculate to see in season 7 of AHS? As always, opinions and friendly discussion is always welcome in the comments!
