‘Run’ Trailer Sees Sarah Paulson as a Horrifically Overbearing Mom

Sarah Paulson has earned a very special chair at the table of genre film over the course of her career. That is exactly why the trailer for Run has us taking substantial notice.

The plot of Run revolves around a mother who on the surface is taking care of her handicapable daughter in strict solitude out of motherly love. Again, on the surface it appears that this is normal. That is until her daughter begins to suspect that mom might not be the person that she says she is, and might have malicious intent all together. Gotta love the allegory there.

The film comes from Searching director, Aneesh Chaganty. That film saw a father desperately attempting to locate his daughter via digital footprints. The whole thing played out via a computer screen and was pretty innovative in its approach.

Paulson appears to be channeling several iconic horrifically overbearing parents. Namely, V.C. Andrew’s Flowers in the Attic mother and Carrie’s mom come to mind. We will see exactly what the film has in store for us when it drops in theaters on May 8.

What do you guys think about Run? Excited to see Paulson go full on psycho mom? Let us know in the comments section.
