Early on in 2018, Rob Zombie announced that he was working on a sequel to House of 1000 Corpses and The Devil’s Rejects, his films centered on the Firefly Family. This came as a shock to many fans, since their saga had a seemingly definitive ending.

Yet, 3 From Hell is on its way, and it’ll feature actors Bill Moseley, Sid Haig, and Sheri Moon Zombie reprising their roles of Otis, Captain Spaulding, and Baby, respectively. It’s also confirmed to not be a prequel, despite the apparent deaths of those characters.

Last spring, Zombie told fans that 3 From Hell had wrapped filming, and he’s been hard at work on finishing the project ever since. Zombie today offered a lengthy update on the film’s progress via Facebook, and explained some delays he’s faced recently.

So, there you have it. As usual for hardcore horror films, Zombie had to figure out how to get an R-rating from the MPAA without compromising his work. From the sounds of it, he seems to have done so. Also, the first 3 From Hell trailer is coming soon.

While it remains to be seen exactly how Otis, Baby, and Spaulding survived getting riddled with bullets by police, I’d be lying if I said I really cared that much. I generally dig Zombie’s work, and I can’t wait to get reacquainted with his greatest creations.
