Rob Zombie’s follow-up to The Devil’s Rejects is finally complete. The director, musician and artist has revealed that he just finished Three From Hell and has begun speculating the date of release.
Speaking with SiriusXM’s Trunk Nation LA Invasion: Live From The Rainbow Bar & Grill on April 8th, Zombie says:
“I had to finish the movie. I just literally finished that two days ago. That’s done. That was taking my life for the last couple of years.”
But as far as a release date goes:
“I don’t know for sure. In the early fall — September vicinity.”
He also revealed that he never really thought that he would be working on a trilogy for the Firefly Family. All three of them – played by Sid Haig, Bill Moseley, and Sheri Moon Zombie – will be reunited in Three From Hell.
“Every time I would finish a movie… After the second one, I thought, ‘We’re done with it,’ but I always think that with every movie … And then you kind of live with it for a long time, and the movies sort of take on a life of their own, or they start getting popular and the fans really start embracing them and the characters, and you start thinking, ‘Well… Hmmm… What if I did this? What if I did that?’ This one, it’s 14 years in between the two films, so it’s been a long time; it wasn’t really a rush to make it, by any means.”
We will be waiting patiently until a solid release date is confirmed. I, for one, truly cannot wait to see this movie. The Devil’s Rejects is a modern grindhouse masterpiece, and House of 1000 Corpses is iconic as you can get for the time period. Let’s hope that Three From Hell is a worthy addition to this flawless series.
