Five adults reunite to save their beloved childhood summer camp from permanent closure after a series of unfortunate events in Tin Roof, a new camp slasher from actor/writer Rob Mello (Happy Death Day) and producer/director/actor Rebecca Rinheart (CarousHELL the 2nd).
The film stars original My Bloody Valentine actress Helene Udy along with Rae Hunt (Curse of the Nun), Kevin Roach (The Bad Man), Jimmy Dempster (King’s Gambit), Mike R. Tinker (The Lost Footage), Amanda Winston (Evil Lurks), Leanne Johnson (Idle Girl), and A.J. Laird (Pizzodyssey).
“After directing The Embalmers, I wanted to make a film in the subgenre that is my true passion: camp slashers,” Rineheart said in a press release. “Rob was eager to write the screenplay, incorporating aspects of the movies I love such as Friday the 13th and Sleepaway Camp. However, our protagonists are complex, relatable middle-aged people as opposed to one-dimensional teen caricatures that are seen in so many modern slashers.”
“I’m so excited to work not just with this extremely talented cast, but the crew we’re assembling is top notch!” Mello added.
That crew includes FX Master Joe Castro (Exorcism at 60,000 Feet) who will bring his unique set of skills to create some truly gnarly kill-scenes for Tin Roof and Laura Duval Romagnera (The Marked) as director of photography.
Tin Roof is scheduled to begin production in Fall of 2021 with an eye on release in Spring 2022. The film is produced under the Subfolders Studios LLC banner. For more information on the film, give them a follow on their official Facebook page!
