Now that Hideo Kojima broke away from Konami, Kojima is finally able to go full on Kojima and man are we going to reap the benefits. The latest release date reveal trailer for Death Stranding finally gives a little shape to a narrative that had previously been heavy on the strange and lite on the exposition.
In the trailer, which features a Nov. 8 release date, we get a deeper look at the world that Kojima created and it looks spectacularly harrowing and overly amazing.
The trailer which features a cast of Norman Reedus, Mads Mikkelsen, léa Seydoux, Guillermo Del Toro and Nicolas Winding Refn looks to be a grand scale sci-fi piece with a lot on its mind.
In the near future, mysterious explosions have rocked the globe, setting off a series of supernatural events known as the Death Stranding. With otherworldly creatures plaguing the landscape, and mass extinction imminent, it’s up to Sam Porter Bridges to travel across the ravaged wasteland and save humanity from impending annihilation.
Sound bizarre and wonderful. For me personally, the image of Mads’ character rising from a lake with a death platoon is what my cinematic hopes and dreams come true. The game looks fantastic and looks to exist on an entirely new level.
What do you guys think? Looking forward to entering another of Kojima’s worlds? Let us know in the comments.
