The house used in John Water’s cult classic Serial Mom is on the market.
The 1994 horror parody stars Kathleen Turner as Beverly Sutphin, a politically correct sociopath who butchers people for breaking social norms or slighting her family.
Using the suburbs of Baltimore, Maryland as a backdrop, Waters created one of the best true crime satires ever made.
Located at 600 Lake Drive, the Sutpins home is Beverly’s picture-perfect hub for plotting her next murder or obscene phone call.
According to LGBTQ Nation, John Waters wrote in his novel Mr. Know-It-All: The Tarnished Wisdom of a Filth Elder:
“We found the perfect location for the Serial Mom’s family house, and the elderly male owner even let us continue filming when his wife died in the middle of the shoot.”
Alex Hodges of Cottage Street Realty is handling the sale. The price is $630,000.
However, the zip code is definitely not, “Two-one-two-f**k-you.”
