Marketing sure does love character posters, especially when those big budget super-hero flicks come out, but a horror film? They are more accustomed to the dreaded “floating faces” poster trend. Well in any case, the marketing team behind the upcoming Poltergeist film has decided to feature the memorable creepy clown doll from the film in its very own poster, which premiered on Fandango. I have to be honest, something about the eyes makes it a bit unsettling. So hang it above your bed and let it keep you up all night.
Although, I do have to say with the closet door behind it in the shot, it looks like it’s standing in a police lineup. Just some observational humor for you. It’s also kinda like the Mona Lisa; no matter where you are in the room, it feels like it’s staring right at you.
Poltergeist stars Sam Rockwell and Rosemarie DeWitt as a couple who move into their new home and encounter something supernatural, which kidnaps their daughter. The film, due out May 22nd, is produced by Sam Raimi and directed by Monster House‘s Gil Kenan.[youtube id=”HD2sz9RVzfM”]
