Game of Thrones alums Peter Dinklage and Jason Momoa are closing deals with Legendary Pictures to star in and produce Good Bad & Undead, based on an original idea from Mark Swift and Damian Shannon. Max Barbakow has signed on to direct the film.
Dinklage will play Van Helsing, the last of his vampire-hunting line, who forms an alliance with a vampire–played by Momoa–who has vowed never to kill again. The two develop a scam in which they move from town and Van Helsing “vanquishes” the vampire for money. Soon, however, a massive bounty is put on the vampire’s head, and they’ll have to use every trick in the book to escape.
As Deadline, who first reported the news, says, “The intent is Midnight Run in a Bram Stoker World.” Also, why has Momoa never played a vampire before now? That should have happened!
Swift and Shannon have written several films together including 2009’s Friday the 13th and Freddy vs. Jason, and Barbakow has proven himself capable of handling dark comedy with films like The Duke. It will be interesting to see what the team have in store for Good Bad & Undead.
Personally, I think Dinklage and Momoa were born for these roles and I can’t wait to see this film come to life.
