We learned back in July that a remake of Pet Sematary is on the way, and the writer promises that it’s going to be “10 times scarier” than the original film. Released in 1989, the movie was of course based on Stephen King’s novel, and two mega fans are paying tribute in a way that benefits us all.
John Campopiano and Justin White began work on fan-made retrospective documentary Unearthed & Untold: The Path to Pet Sematary way back in 2011, and after over a year of silence about the project, Fangoria exclusively reveals this week that it’s headed our way in 2016 – courtesy of Terror Films.
Unearthed & Untold chronicles the origins of Stephen King’s bestselling horror novel, as well as the subsequent film based on his novel. Through extensive interviews this documentary showcases the stories of many cast and crew and highlights how the local communities in Maine played an invaluable role in making the film.
In addition to first-time interviews by cast and crew members and never-before-seen video footage from the sets in Maine, this documentary will also take you on an extensive tour of the filming locations from the film – emphasizing the true local flavor and influence of Maine on this timeless horror film.
