Penn Jillette of Penn and Teller Joins Eli Roth’s ‘Borderlands’ Adaptation

by Trey Hilburn III

Penn Jillette of the legendary magician, wildcard duo Penn and Teller has been cast in Eli Roth’s upcoming Borderlands adaptation. Jillette joins a heck of a stacked cast that includes, Kevin Hart, Jamie Lee Curtis, Kate Blanchette and more.

During the Sunday School Podcast Jillette spoke about his cameo in the upcoming film. “There is a fight scene that interrupts nuptials. After the action is done, he ends up in a space paddy wagon with Kevin Hart.” Jillette went  on to say “it’s very, very, very small part and it will be scene with Kevin Hart. “

The synopsis for Eli Roth’s Borderlands goes like this:

These unlikely heroes must battle alien monsters and dangerous bandits to find and protect the missing girl, who may hold the key to unimaginable power. The fate of the universe could be in their hands – but they’ll be fighting for something more: each other.

The Borderlands game series is essentially a cell-shaded Mad Max RPG. So, I’m really hoping that Eli Roth is approaching this as his own Mad Max film. Cause that’s the way to go about it. If he does go into it that way and we end up with a fuckin insane Mad Max film with Borderland’s characters thrown in there, we are all in for a really good time. Let’s just hope that Roth did his homework.
