Patrick Wilson Takes Over as Director for ‘Insidious 5’

by Trey Hilburn III

Patrick Wilson will direct Insidious 5. This will mark the first time that Wilson has directed any of the franchise. As, we all know, Wilson is a staple in both The Conjuring and the Insidious universe.

Insidious 5 takes place a decade after the events of Insidious: The Last Key. This one will focus on the Dalton Lambert heading off to college. Wilson will return on screen as well.

“I’m honored and thrilled to be at the helm of the next ‘Insidious’ installment, which will provide an amazing chance to unpack everything the Lamberts went through a decade ago, as well as deal with the consequences of their choices – “Directing the movie is both professionally and personally a full circle moment for me, and I am extremely grateful to be entrusted in continuing to tell this frightening and haunting story. Into the further we go.” Wilson revealed in a statement.

I’m happy to see Insidious making a comeback. That particular world has always had a wealth of directions that it could go. Plus, Wilson is a perfect pick for director. I’m certain he has picked up more than a few spooky tricks from the sets of The Conjuring and Insidious. I’m sure he will bring a fresh yet familiar angle on the franchise.

There not a release date on Insidious 5 yet but we will let you know more when we find out.
