The next Paranormal Activity installment will be out a lot sooner than previously thought. Paramount announced a while back that it wouldn’t come out until 2016, but has now moved it to March 13, 2015.
The films have historically come out in the fall, ahead of Halloween, basically filling the void left by the lack of Lionsgate’s Saw movies. They switched it up with the latest installment, The Marked Ones, which was released in January. Apparently they’ve given up on the Halloween seasonality. Fittingly, Saw is returning to theaters this year on Halloween.
The upcoming Paranormal Activity film also got a new title to go along with its release date: Paranormal Activity 5: The Ghost Dimension. Gregory Plotkin is the director. This is his first directorial credit.
According to producer Jason Blum, the film will seek to answer all the unanswered questions from the rest of the franchise.
