There’s nothing better than watching one of your favorite movies up on the big screen for the first time, with an audience of fellow fans, and recent classics to get the re-release treatment include Ghostbusters and The Texas Chain Saw Massacre. Up next? Get ready to fear the water all over again!
Fathom Events announced today that they will be bringing 1975’s Jaws back to the big screen for a very limited time this summer, unleashing cinema’s most terrifying shark on Sunday, June 21st and Wednesday, June 24th, in select movie theaters nationwide. Showings will take place at 2pm and 7pm, on both days.
The two-day-only revival event, which will be coming to nearly 500 theaters around the country, will include a specially produced introduction from TCM Weekend Daytime host Ben Mankiewicz that will give insight into how the classic killer shark flick still makes us think twice about jumping in that water.
“Jaws is a classic thriller enjoyed by generations and it is ready for a comeback,” said Fathom Events vice president of programming Kymberli Frueh-Owens. “Movie buffs will love seeing their favorite killer shark larger than life on the big screen. No risk of shark bite!”
Tickets will be available starting May 29th, and you can learn more about the special 4oth anniversary event over on Fathom Events.
