Since Sony released its first trailer of Venom back in February, many fans of the character were particularly outraged (as it goes) because there wasn’t even a glimpse of Tom Hardy dressed up as the Symbiote. But, today we were introduced rather brilliantly to the titular anti-hero. The original footage that exclusively debuted at Cinemacon today, was unexpectedly released to the online community.

Venom looks awesome, and it appears the filmmakers finally captured the monstrous essence that is the symbiote. The full-length trailer was officially released by Sony Pictures, and you can watch it below.

“We are Venom!”

Official synopsis:

“One of Marvel’s most enigmatic, complex and bad-ass characters comes to the big screen, starring Academy Award® nominated actor Tom Hardy as the lethal protector Venom.”

The movie is inspired by the Venom solo mini-series, Venom: Lethal Protector, and will be the next R-rated adaptation of a Marvel character, this time from Sony.

The film is directed by Ruben Fleischer (the director of Zombieland) and stars, Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock, Michelle Williams as Ann Weying, Riz Ahmed as Dr. Carlton Drake, and Woody Harrelson’s role is still unconfirmed, but rumors have been circulating that he may play the wonderfully psychotic Carnage.

Venom is expected to be released in theaters, October 5th, 2018.
