Nico Tortorella has signed on for a leading role in the recently announced untitled spin-off to AMC’s The Walking Dead.
According to Deadline, the 31 year old actor will play Felix, “an honorable man of his word who isn’t afraid to fight for others’ safety and acceptance.”
Little is known about this new series beyond the fact that it is supposed to deal with the first generation to have grown up in the midst of the zombie apocalypse, and how that has shaped them as people, which kind of makes us miss Carl (Chandler Riggs) even more.
Can you imagine Carl striking out on his own with his own group of young survivors sans Rick Grimes?
Tortorella is no stranger to genre work having previously appeared in 2011’s Scream 4 as well as 2013’s Odd Thomas. He also appeared in The Following opposite Kevin Bacon and James Purefoy.
The gender fluid actor is in good company joining the previously announced Annet Mahendru (The Americans), Hal Cumpston (Bilched), and Alexa Mansour (Unfriended: Dark Web) for this new series.
The series is already filming in and around Richmond, Virginia.
