It’s been too long since we received any Final Destination news. Way too long. The death-centric first entry just had its 20th anniversary. To celebrate the occasion, producer Craig Perry spoke to Digital Spy about where the franchise is headed next.
Perry firstly says that the film isn’t exactly a reboot. It will fit in with the canon that has been established within Final Destination. He also, goes into details about the films primary character focus.
“We’re toying with having it take place in the world of first responders: EMTs, firemen, and police. These people deal with death on the front lines every day and make choices that can cause people to live or die. We rely on their good judgment, expertise, and calm demeanor. So why not put those people in the nightmare situation where every choice can bring about life and death – but now for themselves?” Perry said.
Perry continues to fight the good fight to get Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton’s vision of Final Destination off the ground. With Dunstan’s work on The Collector and The Collection, we certainly are excited to see what he would bring to the franchise.
Perry also says that the next Final Destination film has a planned scene involving a revolving door that won’t allow you to look at them the same way again.
