Newest ‘Glass’ Trailer Builds a World of Vengeful Villains

We saw the beastly first full trailer for Glass (M. Night Shyamalan’s upcoming double-sequel of both Unbreakable and Split) back in July. That trailer chased the “psychological delusion” element of the film with a focus on Psychiatrist Dr. Ellie Staple (Sarah Paulson) and her studies in that particular field. The brand new (just released!) second trailer takes the information we gathered from the first and shifts the narrative in a more sinister direction.

It’s worth note that the first two films in this surprise trilogy have each focused on the specific abilities and struggles of their main character. Unbreakable was all about the indestructible David Dunn (Bruce Willis), and Split introduced the multiple personalities within Kevin Wendell Crumb (James McAvoy).

With the title of this third film, it’s probably safe to assume that Glass will fully explore the maniacal genius of Elijah Price (Samuel L. Jackson). This new trailer seems to support that theory – and looks to be a promising third act to this story’s mythology.

Though some of the second trailer’s images were previously seen in the first, we get more details and a different narration that hints to Price’s manipulation of Crumb. Price seems to be masterminding a plan, and that can’t be good.

We also gather more information about Dr. Staple’s role which – in this light – looks a lot darker than we may have initially thought.

While the first trailer showed a more sympathetic and optimistic angle, this second trailer seems to be full of villains.

Check out trailer #2 and the poster below, and let us know what you think. Glass will break into theaters on January 18, 2019.
