Premium cable channel Epix is getting the series premiere of Europe’s War of the Worlds, a reboot of the oft adapted H.G. Wells classic.

The latest trailer is a bit reminiscent of the Tom Cruise action vehicle directed by Steven Spielberg in 2005.

But this time, instead of being set in Brooklyn, New York, the invasion is played out in contemporary France.

The trailer description says this is an “Anglo-French reimagining of H. G. Wells’ classic in the style of Walking Dead follows pockets of survivors forced to team up after an apocalyptic extra-terrestrial strike.”

The cast this time around includes, Léa Drucker, Gabriel Byrne, and Adel Bencherif.

It is directed by Howard Overman

War of the Worlds premieres on Epix on Sunday, February 16, 9/8 pm Central.
